KNX ⇄ BACnet gateway

Bring your KNX installations into a BACnet BMS — and control KNX from the supervision system.

The problem

KNX runs the building — lighting, blinds, HVAC, scenes. Supervision and the BMS, however, expect BACnet. Both worlds live in the same building but do not talk natively, and off-the-shelf KNX/BACnet gateways are expensive and rigid.

How the WBox does it

The WBox exposes KNX group objects as BACnet/IP objects in the BMS

The WBox gateway reads and writes KNX group objects (KNX TP via interface, KNX IP, KNX USB) and exposes them as native BACnet/IP objectsanalog/binary input/value. The BMS discovers them like any other BACnet device.

Mapping is done by drag & drop, with a transformation from KNX types (DPT) to BACnet types where needed. The bridge is bidirectional: the BMS can write a BACnet setpoint that drives KNX (lighting, temperature). Hysteresis and consistency check included.

What you need

The same principle applies: KNX can also be routed to MQTT or Modbus on the same gateway.
