The same software, without the hardware

The WBox gateway is, first and foremost, software. That complete stack — every driver, the inter-protocol routing engine, logic (JavaScript, Blockly) and supervision — is also available as an installable Windows application, strictly identical to what runs on our gateways.

Install it on a PC, a server or a virtual machine and you get exactly the same functions, the same interface and the same configuration formats as on a physical WBox. A flexibility most building-automation gateways simply don’t offer.

Why it’s an advantage

  • No hardware lock-in. Run routing and supervision wherever you like — no proprietary box imposed.
  • Scales up. On a server or a VM, handle large point counts for big sites or a central, multi-site supervisor.
  • Evaluate, then deploy. Test and develop your configuration on Windows, then deploy the same config as-is to a physical WBox.
  • IT integration. Virtualise the application in your datacenter, with your own backup, redundancy and monitoring policies.
  • Identical behaviour. One software, the same on hardware and on Windows — nothing to relearn.
