The WBox S485 is a universal industrial control unit running on a low-power Armbian Linux board with an excellent performance-to-price ratio. With its two RS-485 ports and Weble’s software suite, it is ideal for controlling and supervising smart-building, HVAC and industrial-automation systems. It is especially useful as a gateway between IP/IoT protocols and serial protocols such as BACnet MS/TP or Modbus RTU.

Communication interfaces

The S485 features two RS-485 interfaces for serial communication (e.g. Modbus, BACnet MS/TP) to control and monitor field devices such as boilers, HVAC, energy meters, PLCs or extension modules. An Ethernet port (10/100 Mbps) connects the gateway to the local network, the internet or supervision systems.
