Paul Vaucher SA — WBox gateways at the heart of their installations

DALI/KNX/BACnet routing to OPC UA, white-label remote access and energy-data uplink — all on WBox gateways.

The context

Paul Vaucher SA is a Geneva-based electrical and building-automation integrator. The company deploys Weble’s WBox gateways across many projects — from protocol routing to remote access and energy-data uplink.

Multi-protocol routing — Lombard Odier project (Geneva)

For the Lombard Odier campus in Geneva, Paul Vaucher SA deployed 50 WBox S485 KNX gateways. Each one performs native routing between the building protocols and the OPC UA supervision layer:

  • DALI ⇄ OPC UA — addressable DALI lighting surfaced and controlled from the supervision.
  • KNX ⇄ OPC UA — the building’s KNX bus exposed over OPC UA.
  • BACnet ⇄ OPC UA — HVAC equipment and BMS interconnected.

The WBox routing table moves any point from one bus to another, with no intermediate hardware or extra application gateway.

For this large-scale rollout, Paul Vaucher SA commissioned Weble to build a tool that automatically imports the on-site controller configuration. Using the gateways’ REST API and peers mechanism, the tool retrieves and deploys the configuration across the whole fleet — dramatically speeding up commissioning of the 50 gateways and guaranteeing a consistent, reproducible setup.

White-label remote access (OEM)

On other projects, Paul Vaucher SA runs the OEM version of Weble’s remote-access platform, under its own brand. Day to day, the remote-access service lets them:

  • carry out remote maintenance of installations, with no site visit;
  • share the local supervision interfaces with their customers and operators, securely.

Energy-data uplink & monitoring platform

Paul Vaucher SA also uses WBox gateways for energy-data uplink — electricity, heat and water metering — to a metering platform, via the M-Bus and Modbus drivers.

In 2025, Weble developed a dedicated monitoring platform to centralise and visualise this data: consumption curves, multi-utility tracking (electricity / heat / water) and per-site dashboards.

The benefit

  • One hardware platform for very different uses: routing, remote access, metering.
  • Local routing + cloud uplink on the same device, with no middleware to maintain.
  • Deployment at scale — 50 identical gateways on a single project, centrally configurable.
  • A lasting partnership: from white-label OEM to a custom monitoring platform built in 2025.
