Beez FM — field-data collection and cloud processing

Deployed as an OEM version, Weble gateways collect building data and stream it to Beez FM’s cloud, where the Monitoring & supervision module stores and processes it to drive decarbonisation.

The context

Beez FM is a Singapore-based GreenTech company active in building decarbonisation across the Asia-Pacific region. Its outcome-based model funds energy retrofits with no upfront capital for the owner (“zero-CAPEX”), with a return on investment guaranteed by the savings actually measured.

At the heart of that promise is data. To establish a building’s baseline consumption, drive efficiency actions and verify the savings, Beez FM continuously collects energy data from hundreds of buildings — 300+ sites already deployed across APAC — and centralises it in its cloud platform.

OEM gateways and a VPN server

For the on-site collection layer, Beez FM relies on Weble’s WBox gateways, shipped as an OEM version — integrated into Beez FM’s ecosystem and brand.

In each building, the gateway reads the energy meters and equipment (electricity, heat, water, HVAC), then streams the readings continuously to Beez FM’s cloud. A single device handles both local multi-protocol collection and cloud uplink — with no intermediate hardware or extra middleware.

At the heart of the architecture is a self-hosted VPN server run by Beez FM, deployed as an OEM version within its own infrastructure: every gateway keeps a permanent secure tunnel to it. This server plays a dual role:

  • remote access to the whole fleet — commissioning, diagnostics and updates of the gateways with no site visit;
  • data uplink and storage — it is over this same channel that building readings are brought back and retained, inside Beez FM’s infrastructure.

Deployed as OEM and controlled end-to-end by Beez FM, this server ensures the data never leaves its perimeter, while making it possible to scale to a fleet of several hundred buildings across APAC.

Cloud data storage and processing

Once uploaded, the data is handled by Weble’s Monitoring & supervision module, hosted on Beez FM’s OEM server. The module logs and stores the streams in a database and exposes them for processing: real-time aggregation, long-term historisation, dashboards by zone, building or installation, KPI computation and alarms.

This structured data layer feeds Beez FM’s energy-efficiency analytics directly: establishing baseline consumption, tracking retrofit actions and verifying the savings on which its outcome-based model relies.

The benefit

  • One end-to-end chain from a single vendor: the field gateway and the cloud data module both come from Weble — one stack to integrate and maintain.
  • OEM version: gateways and module blend into Beez FM’s brand and platform.
  • Sovereign infrastructure: a self-hosted OEM VPN server keeps both remote access and data within Beez FM’s perimeter.
  • Analysis-ready data: logged and structured in the cloud, directly usable by energy-efficiency tools.
  • Scale: identical deployment and remote management across hundreds of buildings in APAC.
  • Serving decarbonisation: reliable, continuous measurement as the foundation of savings verification.
