Modbus is the de-facto standard for industrial device communication. The WBox gateway supports both master and slave roles across Modbus RTU (serial/RS-485), Modbus ASCII and Modbus TCP. Typically used as a master to collect data from meters and devices and forward it to BACnet or the cloud via MQTT — it can even act as a transparent Modbus TCP-to-RTU gateway.
